Drakensang Online Game Review

There are a lot of games to play online and not all of us want to waste our times leveling up past the first few levels to see if we like the game or not. I wasn't sure if I would like Drakensang online either mainly because I had never heard of it before nor do I know anyone who has ever played it before so I took this browser based MMORPG on to see how it compared to others I have played.

This first video is how the game starts. If you have never tried to play a MMORPG the first few levels of the game is more like an introduction to the game and the story line. Here you can see that my character can only go down a certain path and only specific objects are "clickable" and only certain NPC (no player characters) interact with your character. Some NPC's are one time use, in other words you see them once and they tell you what ever it is they need to tell you then they no longer interact with you. When you are in the introduction stage of the game you will run into a lot of these types of characters. Once you get into an urban area where there are vendors, teachers and story tellers there you will find other players and people to interact with. In this game you will see a "chat window" on the left hand side of the screen. In most games this is used to pass information, request help, or just say hi to others in the local area. The chat area is used only by players and in some (very rare) instances GM's (game moderators) will use these to announce different things.

Here in Drakensang Online the NPC's you can interact with will have a light blue/purple colored icon above their heads and if you open your map while in town you can see where they are located by the symbol they have over their heads are also on the map. Each town has a basic set of NPC's which will be the trainer for each profession, blacksmith, herbalist and several others. Get familiar with them because some of these you will use a lot. The blacksmith for example can repair your damaged equipment, so see him after every death and if you haven't died in a while then you may want to check the durability of your equipment. Open your backpack/inventory by either using the button at the top of your screen that looks like a backpack or by pressing the I key.

There are so many aspects to this game to cover and if you have ever played a MMORPG or even an RPG game then a lot of this will be old news for you. In the event you have never played this style game, then this would be a good game for you to learn on. The only down side to learning on this game is that you don't get a lot of help from other players. If you like to learn things on your own this is your game, if you sometimes need help, then avoid this game like the plague because during my first 12 levels of game play I had only spoken to one person and they spoke Spanish. I know I should have spent some time reading the FAQ on the game, or even the community forums on the homepage but I'm the kind of person that likes to jump into things head first. One thing I noticed about this game that I do not like is there is no trading system and as far as I have been able to tell, no locker system. In a MMORPG world lockers and a trading system is essential to players. Just like in the real world these games have an economy and when you can only make money by hunting there gets to be a point in time when you want something for your level character that won't be dropped and if you haven't saved up enough in game money to pay for it, then you would trade or sell things to afford the item you desire.

So far (again this is just the trail period for my testing)  Drakensang Online has not tested well for long term play. MMORPG's are meant to be games you can play for years and to do that you can't just have a high level cap, there needs to be a society within the game to keep people playing. There needs to be an economy, lockers/warehouse, crafting, and other areas players can work on other than just running quest after quest. Once you max out your characters level and complete all the quests then what is your goal? In Drakensang you game will be over, you can try PVP (player vs. player combat) but even that gets old and when you play a game that doesn't have a players economy then everyone potentially could have the same items as anyone of the same level. If you have the money and don't mind spending a certain amount of REAL money on your hobby then you might have more than the casual player that is playing for free but there are tons of kids that have their parents endless pockets and will max out their character for each level and that can frustrate anyone just relaxing playing a fun game online. (lol)

So after further review I would give Drakensang a try if you haven't played many MMORPG's  but I wouldn't put this on the list of "must play" games for the year. Visually this game is cool, and honestly one of my favorite monsters in any game is the elk archers you see in the screenshot above. You also see them in action (killing me) in one of the clips. It just made me laugh seeing an elk on it's hind legs shooting arrows at me. This is a fun game, easy to play, and it's big enough to keep a person busy for long periods of time. The down side of this game can only be in the overall total length of time you can play this game before you get bored or "defeat" it. Anyone wanting to start a game for the first time. Stealth Hunter 2 Game Review

Feel like being sneaky? Is blowing stuff up, ripping off body parts, and destroying massive amounts of objects just a bit to exciting for you today? Then go play Stealth Hunter 2. If you played the first version and you still have a sour taste in your mouth then if you do nothing else for the rest of your life, listen to the next things I tell you. Stop licking the screen and use more mouthwash. Now instead of bashing Stealth Hunter, the first release of this game, I will tell you how good part 2 is. This game is captivating, riveting, and has playability for days. The music is pretty cool, and while outside the rain sound effects sound great.

It is hard to talk about this game with out sounding like i'm going overboard but that is only because they first game they came out with was horrible, this game is worlds from the first one which isn't all that common in the flash world. It looks like they threw everything away and started fresh with same name and same basic concept only keeping the few things that really just worked from the original. These guys did an oustanding job of looking back at all the mistakes that were made and found a way to make a game that people wanted to play for hours at a time. Don't get me wrong this is still a flash game that still looks like a flash game, but it is clean, easy to play, and is a challenge. I have a feeling the fact that Not Doppler sponsored the second one it was because they liked the first one, but wanted a game up to their standards so they paid for it, can't blame them since this game is cool and the first one was pretty good on a low budget, but if you have the money to spend then Stealth Hunter 2 is what you can get with a few extra dollars.

When ever you get spotted the whole screen turns to a hue of red and the alarms go off and you loose your radar and it is replaced by a timer. This timer lets you know how much time you have until your hidden again. Once all the orange is gone from the circle then you are back to being hidden again. So if you accidentally run in front of one of the security cameras, just run as fast as you can to the nearest open room and hope no one saw you run in there. The warnings will go off and when they do the guards all return to their routine. Then you go back out and sneak around the camera and snap their necks for not looking hard enough to find you. Another thing they did right was the pointers you can see on the ground that will help guide you at least in the direction of what ever your mission is, and it also tells you how far you have to go via meters. Not that I have any idea how far 25 meters actually is. Way to go American public schools!

Stealth Hunter 2 has proven to be much more of a challenge than I had thought. I started playing this assuming it was like the first one and I was dead wrong. This game is intense, not only does the music sound intense, but the game jumps right into intense scenes. You start this game out with no weapons, you don't even get one until the 3rd or 4th level. This is addicting. See if you can play this with out getting all frustrated because you want to make it to the next level and see what you can find. I think the lock picking is fun too. Granted it isn't difficult at all, but it is different. Especially when you are trying to pick a lock and a guard is walking around the corner, if you don't pick it fast enough he will kill you and then you have to start over. Also another cool thing they built into the game was the auto save. Once you get to a certain spot in each level it saves your progress so that if you have to restart you don't loose to much.

When ever you play a fun game you always tell someone right? NO? Well i'm ashamed! How else are the hard working people that create these games ever going to make enough money to support their families? With out people to play these games, there would be a giant increase in porn sales for one, secondly life wouldn't be nearly as fun. Make sure when ever you find a game you like, site you like, or something that peaks your interest ( this is pertaining to ONLINE things only, don't tell the guy in line at McDonald's, that you think that LoL Fun Games.Com is the coolest flash site with the absolute best descriptions on the web ) then you should tag it, share it, tumble it, pintrest it, or email it to a friend you would think would like it. You can tell these guys worked hard on this game and it is by far the coolest flash stealth game I've played. For fun games like this and more please visit here or here.

Fancy Pants Adventure World 3 Game Review

The long awaited, much anticipated, never duplicated, Fancy Pants Adventure World 3 has made its way into the world with a pretty big splash. It took a while to get it in a distributional format but I'm sure there was a greedy reason there, not all games get site locked just those that seem to get more push from publishers.  I'm not saying this game isn't cool or even fun to play but sometimes these games are treated like they are much more than they are. Fancy Pants Adventure World 3 (FPAW3) is one of the simplest looking games out there and because I have played it I know that the level design and story line are really, really good but to the average person looking to play a game online, this one may not appeal to everyone.

I play tons of games and all different kinds and when I review one game I compare it to all of the ones like it, not that I've played which is why I don't exactly understand the draw (pun intended) to this game. The look alone got to me, I understand the beauty of simplicity but at the same time visually sexy games are very big money makers. I remember every year I would say that the video game Gran Turismo was more realistic, or sounded better than the year before.

WoW, Star Wars, Dungeons & Dragons Online, and other RPG games prey on the sexy look attracting the male mind is always done visually and just as a guess how big would you say the 13-35 year old male demographic is? Big enough to get everyone and thier mother to invest a million into a graphically sophisticated game and make as big a splash as they can as fast as they can because those games rarely have sustenance or any time of playability. That's why flash game websites numbers are second only to porn, because there are some games here that are not only good for the mind, but the heart too. Relax a while and play a video game after you pay all of your bills and realized you have no money and don't get paid for another week. Enjoy this flash game, it was a well though game that will give you more enjoyment than you paid for.
I do get a kick out of the scripts written in some of these games. This one is about bathtub pirates that have stolen the royal bathtub and subsequently Mr. Fancy Pants little sister. I also get a kick out of the way the writers poke fun at their own silly games and comments. These guys make really good games, and by that I mean some of the best overall and they realize how these games are meant to be silly, fun, and pure entertainment. Next game I play that has a pirate with a rainbow beard, it will loose points dramatically for not being original.

I did review the Fancy Pants Adventure World 2 on my games site and honestly, if you think about that one, it had a very Alice in Wonderland feel to it. This one kinda freaked me out once the rainbow bearded pirate came out, if this was a demented version of Pirates of the Caribbean then cool but I haven't seen anything like that out of it yet. Maybe I read to much into the following a rabbit in a hole in the other one. Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind when I played it the first dozen times or so. Don't get me wrong, this game can be fun if you put on the right music and play it like the old Sonic the Hedgehog games.
