Drakensang Online Game Review

There are a lot of games to play online and not all of us want to waste our times leveling up past the first few levels to see if we like the game or not. I wasn't sure if I would like Drakensang online either mainly because I had never heard of it before nor do I know anyone who has ever played it before so I took this browser based MMORPG on to see how it compared to others I have played.

This first video is how the game starts. If you have never tried to play a MMORPG the first few levels of the game is more like an introduction to the game and the story line. Here you can see that my character can only go down a certain path and only specific objects are "clickable" and only certain NPC (no player characters) interact with your character. Some NPC's are one time use, in other words you see them once and they tell you what ever it is they need to tell you then they no longer interact with you. When you are in the introduction stage of the game you will run into a lot of these types of characters. Once you get into an urban area where there are vendors, teachers and story tellers there you will find other players and people to interact with. In this game you will see a "chat window" on the left hand side of the screen. In most games this is used to pass information, request help, or just say hi to others in the local area. The chat area is used only by players and in some (very rare) instances GM's (game moderators) will use these to announce different things.

Here in Drakensang Online the NPC's you can interact with will have a light blue/purple colored icon above their heads and if you open your map while in town you can see where they are located by the symbol they have over their heads are also on the map. Each town has a basic set of NPC's which will be the trainer for each profession, blacksmith, herbalist and several others. Get familiar with them because some of these you will use a lot. The blacksmith for example can repair your damaged equipment, so see him after every death and if you haven't died in a while then you may want to check the durability of your equipment. Open your backpack/inventory by either using the button at the top of your screen that looks like a backpack or by pressing the I key.

There are so many aspects to this game to cover and if you have ever played a MMORPG or even an RPG game then a lot of this will be old news for you. In the event you have never played this style game, then this would be a good game for you to learn on. The only down side to learning on this game is that you don't get a lot of help from other players. If you like to learn things on your own this is your game, if you sometimes need help, then avoid this game like the plague because during my first 12 levels of game play I had only spoken to one person and they spoke Spanish. I know I should have spent some time reading the FAQ on the game, or even the community forums on the homepage but I'm the kind of person that likes to jump into things head first. One thing I noticed about this game that I do not like is there is no trading system and as far as I have been able to tell, no locker system. In a MMORPG world lockers and a trading system is essential to players. Just like in the real world these games have an economy and when you can only make money by hunting there gets to be a point in time when you want something for your level character that won't be dropped and if you haven't saved up enough in game money to pay for it, then you would trade or sell things to afford the item you desire.

So far (again this is just the trail period for my testing)  Drakensang Online has not tested well for long term play. MMORPG's are meant to be games you can play for years and to do that you can't just have a high level cap, there needs to be a society within the game to keep people playing. There needs to be an economy, lockers/warehouse, crafting, and other areas players can work on other than just running quest after quest. Once you max out your characters level and complete all the quests then what is your goal? In Drakensang you game will be over, you can try PVP (player vs. player combat) but even that gets old and when you play a game that doesn't have a players economy then everyone potentially could have the same items as anyone of the same level. If you have the money and don't mind spending a certain amount of REAL money on your hobby then you might have more than the casual player that is playing for free but there are tons of kids that have their parents endless pockets and will max out their character for each level and that can frustrate anyone just relaxing playing a fun game online. (lol)

So after further review I would give Drakensang a try if you haven't played many MMORPG's  but I wouldn't put this on the list of "must play" games for the year. Visually this game is cool, and honestly one of my favorite monsters in any game is the elk archers you see in the screenshot above. You also see them in action (killing me) in one of the clips. It just made me laugh seeing an elk on it's hind legs shooting arrows at me. This is a fun game, easy to play, and it's big enough to keep a person busy for long periods of time. The down side of this game can only be in the overall total length of time you can play this game before you get bored or "defeat" it. Anyone wanting to start a game for the first time. Stealth Hunter 2 Game Review

Feel like being sneaky? Is blowing stuff up, ripping off body parts, and destroying massive amounts of objects just a bit to exciting for you today? Then go play Stealth Hunter 2. If you played the first version and you still have a sour taste in your mouth then if you do nothing else for the rest of your life, listen to the next things I tell you. Stop licking the screen and use more mouthwash. Now instead of bashing Stealth Hunter, the first release of this game, I will tell you how good part 2 is. This game is captivating, riveting, and has playability for days. The music is pretty cool, and while outside the rain sound effects sound great.

It is hard to talk about this game with out sounding like i'm going overboard but that is only because they first game they came out with was horrible, this game is worlds from the first one which isn't all that common in the flash world. It looks like they threw everything away and started fresh with same name and same basic concept only keeping the few things that really just worked from the original. These guys did an oustanding job of looking back at all the mistakes that were made and found a way to make a game that people wanted to play for hours at a time. Don't get me wrong this is still a flash game that still looks like a flash game, but it is clean, easy to play, and is a challenge. I have a feeling the fact that Not Doppler sponsored the second one it was because they liked the first one, but wanted a game up to their standards so they paid for it, can't blame them since this game is cool and the first one was pretty good on a low budget, but if you have the money to spend then Stealth Hunter 2 is what you can get with a few extra dollars.

When ever you get spotted the whole screen turns to a hue of red and the alarms go off and you loose your radar and it is replaced by a timer. This timer lets you know how much time you have until your hidden again. Once all the orange is gone from the circle then you are back to being hidden again. So if you accidentally run in front of one of the security cameras, just run as fast as you can to the nearest open room and hope no one saw you run in there. The warnings will go off and when they do the guards all return to their routine. Then you go back out and sneak around the camera and snap their necks for not looking hard enough to find you. Another thing they did right was the pointers you can see on the ground that will help guide you at least in the direction of what ever your mission is, and it also tells you how far you have to go via meters. Not that I have any idea how far 25 meters actually is. Way to go American public schools!

Stealth Hunter 2 has proven to be much more of a challenge than I had thought. I started playing this assuming it was like the first one and I was dead wrong. This game is intense, not only does the music sound intense, but the game jumps right into intense scenes. You start this game out with no weapons, you don't even get one until the 3rd or 4th level. This is addicting. See if you can play this with out getting all frustrated because you want to make it to the next level and see what you can find. I think the lock picking is fun too. Granted it isn't difficult at all, but it is different. Especially when you are trying to pick a lock and a guard is walking around the corner, if you don't pick it fast enough he will kill you and then you have to start over. Also another cool thing they built into the game was the auto save. Once you get to a certain spot in each level it saves your progress so that if you have to restart you don't loose to much.

When ever you play a fun game you always tell someone right? NO? Well i'm ashamed! How else are the hard working people that create these games ever going to make enough money to support their families? With out people to play these games, there would be a giant increase in porn sales for one, secondly life wouldn't be nearly as fun. Make sure when ever you find a game you like, site you like, or something that peaks your interest ( this is pertaining to ONLINE things only, don't tell the guy in line at McDonald's, that you think that LoL Fun Games.Com is the coolest flash site with the absolute best descriptions on the web ) then you should tag it, share it, tumble it, pintrest it, or email it to a friend you would think would like it. You can tell these guys worked hard on this game and it is by far the coolest flash stealth game I've played. For fun games like this and more please visit here or here.

Fancy Pants Adventure World 3 Game Review

The long awaited, much anticipated, never duplicated, Fancy Pants Adventure World 3 has made its way into the world with a pretty big splash. It took a while to get it in a distributional format but I'm sure there was a greedy reason there, not all games get site locked just those that seem to get more push from publishers.  I'm not saying this game isn't cool or even fun to play but sometimes these games are treated like they are much more than they are. Fancy Pants Adventure World 3 (FPAW3) is one of the simplest looking games out there and because I have played it I know that the level design and story line are really, really good but to the average person looking to play a game online, this one may not appeal to everyone.

I play tons of games and all different kinds and when I review one game I compare it to all of the ones like it, not that I've played which is why I don't exactly understand the draw (pun intended) to this game. The look alone got to me, I understand the beauty of simplicity but at the same time visually sexy games are very big money makers. I remember every year I would say that the video game Gran Turismo was more realistic, or sounded better than the year before.

WoW, Star Wars, Dungeons & Dragons Online, and other RPG games prey on the sexy look attracting the male mind is always done visually and just as a guess how big would you say the 13-35 year old male demographic is? Big enough to get everyone and thier mother to invest a million into a graphically sophisticated game and make as big a splash as they can as fast as they can because those games rarely have sustenance or any time of playability. That's why flash game websites numbers are second only to porn, because there are some games here that are not only good for the mind, but the heart too. Relax a while and play a video game after you pay all of your bills and realized you have no money and don't get paid for another week. Enjoy this flash game, it was a well though game that will give you more enjoyment than you paid for.
I do get a kick out of the scripts written in some of these games. This one is about bathtub pirates that have stolen the royal bathtub and subsequently Mr. Fancy Pants little sister. I also get a kick out of the way the writers poke fun at their own silly games and comments. These guys make really good games, and by that I mean some of the best overall and they realize how these games are meant to be silly, fun, and pure entertainment. Next game I play that has a pirate with a rainbow beard, it will loose points dramatically for not being original.

I did review the Fancy Pants Adventure World 2 on my games site and honestly, if you think about that one, it had a very Alice in Wonderland feel to it. This one kinda freaked me out once the rainbow bearded pirate came out, if this was a demented version of Pirates of the Caribbean then cool but I haven't seen anything like that out of it yet. Maybe I read to much into the following a rabbit in a hole in the other one. Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind when I played it the first dozen times or so. Don't get me wrong, this game can be fun if you put on the right music and play it like the old Sonic the Hedgehog games.

Runescape Game Review

You can't get on a computer and just dig around and find something new. No, once you google something you are forever linked to everything you have ever looked for. I'm really surprised my first search result isn't for an asian porn game, and honestly that would be a cool concept but I digress. When you get online no matter where you go the advertisers are there and no matter how small of a foot print you have tried to leave you just can't avoid google's reach. I look for a game online, that is browser based and even though there are millions I am attracted to this one. Runescape has been around for a very long time and I am attracted to it not because of the great graphics, not because of its simplicity or complexity but simply because they have been advertised by the right ads and they have the benefit of word of mouth spreading around the gaming community. Like every community, the gaming community isn't as big as you think. Honestly it's pretty small when counted against other community's such as  porn, religion, politics and about a million others. The gaming family starts loosing members when they get older, unlike neighborhoods, gun enthusists, and collectors. The few that stick around fit a specific profile, Gamers. We, young and old, have a huge data base of information dedicated to strategies, builds and scripts. We all like complex, detailed, and advanced technology games and toys and at the same time we can entertain ourselves with just about any type of game as long as we feel the game is somewhat of a challenge.
I was directed to Runescape by the foretold reason and this will honestly be the first time I have played this game and I am impressed. The first MMORPG game I ever played was a game I played for over 10 years and I have a friend that has been keeping my character until I am financially stable enough to take him off his hands. Even though I am an adult and have children that play these games, I plan on being 90 sitting at a computer and playing the newest game while picking on some 12 y/o kid online listening to him talk crap and curse every three words because he knows I'm an adult and his parents aren't home and he can get away with it. Being an adult gamer is very odd and sometimes a bit lonely when half the people you meet in game are friends with your kids friends and their parents are to busy to be playing games. Runescape is one of those games that mothers who played the game as a kid can still pop in for an hour or two a week to do a mission or two, maybe chat with another player about game mechanics, other characters, or about your crappy day. This game can go with you on your ride to adulthood. There are a lot of games that have all kinds of feels to them, and i'm not bashing any of them, to each their own, but Runescape is a tough game to beat when it comes to simplicity and fun. There is always something to do in this game. The visionaries for this game really looked to give this game staying power.
I just recently started playing the game but I will keep blogging about it as I go and giving a detail or two about it. I will add a few screen shots, videos, and comments every now and then to give anyone who is thinking about getting into a new game something to think about. My first character in this game is a female and it is the first time I have EVER played any game as a woman character. I have heard guys say they start female characters because if they have to stare at an avatar for hours a day they would rather look at a female avatar than a male one. I never put any thought into it but when I created this character I figured I couldn't knock it until I try it. I named her Nasaium, no relevance really I just like to give my characters names that not everyone has so I create names. I choose summoner as a profession but I like stealing in game so I really don't know which direction I'm going to start. In Runescape you can and should train in many different labors the only down side is carrying around all the junk you need for each skill. I was attracted to summoning only because in the game you can summon critters but what they can do is still unknown to me because i'm only on day two of my 14 day trail. We will see how far you can get before you need to become a member to reap any real benefits.
Just like any other game on the market, there are tons of people playing, blogging, and hating this game and I am among many following this game but honestly they are all the same. Here is one blog I like that has several good tips and articles about gameplay.  There are several more pages on google on the topic and I sugguest you check them all out. My goal is not to hurt the game but to inform anyone wanting to know what this game is like as a novice or as someone who is a gamer but never played before.  I am a gamer and I want to be a part of the industry until I take my last breath whether it be blogging, creating, or hosting games, I have games in my blood. Keep up with my blog and follow me as I dig through the agrivating parts of starting a new game. For more online games, fun games, flash games, and free online games visit this site.

Gunshine.net Zombies Online Game Review

Redneck Zombie Killer
There are tons of MMORPG's and over three quarters of them are replicated, copied, and almost "templated" from one or two main story lines. Now Gunshine isn't a unique story in any shape form or fashion. Actually when it comes to new and fun story lines, there isn't one that sticks out. When it comes down to it, video games are a lot like jokes in that there are only X number of jokes, the difference is the visual performance and delivery. And so goes the story of all games, online or not. If you are going to be vanilla then you try to make your vanilla better, simpler, and easy to get so, if you must be in the general public you might as well look better than the others.
I really like this future redneck fighting off zombies theme, there aren't enough games with this sense of humor built in.  If the avatars aren't funny enough for your taste then read along with the story it had me laughing out loud. The content of this game isn't exactly G rated, matter of fact it would probably end up with a PG-17 label due to blood, violence, and language and if that didn't do it, the strip club in one town would ensure a hefty rating. One thing you have to love is the gritty tone and the dirty immature humor mixed in I'm hoping no one paid anyone to write the scripts because if they did then either they got exactly what they wanted or they were ripped off. Either way, we won. I really get a kick out of the details some of these games go into. This game has crafting but no stat allocation which some people love the hands on and the ability to adjust every stat of their character. From personal experience I have learned that to much ability to adjust stats just means your going to gripe and complain about how the adjustments you do don't affect your character the way you want them to. For a download free browser game that is easy on resources, this game ROCKS!!
It used to shock me that people do actually pay to play some MMORPG's because of games like this but this one is free and it's a no download browser game, where can you go wrong? This is a clean looking game and yes it is no big surprise that they make their money on advertising and the "hopes" people will get addicted and justify their buying game credits are like paying a really, really cheap pay to play game. This train of thought is sensible and I've done it for a couple of cool games but that was when I had no life and plenty of time (Or in plain english, that was back when I didn't owe so much money for crap I don't even have anymore). From my perspective it is completely ok to pay for a game you like if you look at it like a hobby and (This is not an advice colum and any advice given represents my abundance of ignorance) you don't dedicate your life to a game. This is a hobby that we can get passionate about and even love but we still have to have some sort of life outside of our computer rooms. If you play Gunshine and pay for it, you would be getting a deal. I like having the ability to choose to run around and kill zombies or doing daily quests to earn money and other rewards. This game is a must for anyone that wants a game to play for an hour or two a night, but every night because it is way to addicting to leave alone for to long. This is really is a LoL fun game. The Last Stand: Dead Zone

On Facebook Now
Con Artist games has taken a huge step forward in their perspective market and by huge I mean awesome. So a huge step could be taken to mean a lot of things so what I mean is, as in this is a bigger direction monetarily looks like Con Artist is wanting to get a little bit of that Zynga buzz. Con Artist has stepped up a little bit and created a Facebook game that is the zombie version of the hit game Fallout sounds a lot like it too. I just started playing this but since I know what to expect then I can already tell what the game is about. While that may be a bummer for me, for those of you that have never played that game can believe that this game is fun! But, let me warn you this game isn't for everyone. This game is a time based role playing game (TBRPG) and it is set to real time not to a game time. So if you like the speed of action or adventure games then it may not be your cup of tea but either way it is fun to kill zombies no matter how you do it.
You start out the game with a building, a bunch of junk sitting around and a beat up old car that needs fuel to use and since this is an apocalyptic game, there is no one making fuel so when you find it, it's more precious than gold. You must create a base in and around the building you have and the overall goal is to make this area self sustainable. You build vegetable gardens, water collection tanks, and storage for all of the items you find, make, or need to hold all excesses. Now while it makes sense to do certain things like building a vegetable garden and water collection tank but there is a certain strategy that you must use when using up your resources because the point of the game is to survive on what little you can find or get lucky to find. As you build up your little slice of looters paradise, a random survivor will come and join you. It may suck at first because then you have to share what little you have and work harder to support both people, or in other words a little more like real life itself. So your goal in this game is to get high enough level and have enough party members to go out and hunt the zombies that have plagued the world and are on the brink of successfully making the human race extinct. How long can you last? How large can you grow your new city?

Why I play online games.

Lets keep this real simple. I am the worlds greatest procrastinator. If you don't believe me then I will set out to prove you wrong. Until then let me give a little back ground on who's crap your reading about, let me introduce myself. I am Mr. Irrelevant, Mr. Common, and Mr. Next Door. I am you except for the small fact that I am here looking through these eyes describing what it is you see. If you understand where I am coming from then you need a little bit of motivation because I'm still looking for my ambition it has some how escaped me much like my memory and my drive and since that's gone I've been stuck here. I was wishing on a wing and a prayer but I thought that was a bit ironic since i'm Buddhist.  I use that term every so carefree when what I really should be saying is that if I didn't procrastinate actually going to temple then I may be able to use the word as freely as I do now.
I would love to go into depth about exactly what has lead me to this point in my life but much like the real thing, train wrecks like this don't just happen, they are chaotically orchestrated and I have had the pleasure of having a front row seat at the messed up movie that is my life. About two years ago I met a guy who would become my best friend, party pal, and father to my grand child. Had I known our future then I probably would have just been a really bad neighbor and told my wife that he was a registered white supremacist but she is confrontational and thinks she could change anyone's mind. Instead, for some reason I spoke to him and got to know him much better. We have a lot in common even more than the love for my daughter, more than the love for the soon to be here grand child, we had one thing in common that bonded us enough to keep me from attempted homicide, we are A**holes. We've all had jobs but he and I hated ours more than most and he was in the process of starting a home business that would allow him not to need a job ever again. I became his friend and not only was I jealous of him, but I wanted to do it too. He had built up a free flash  game website. Really he didn't do much he just bought a script and uploaded a bunch of game packs, every cool game he could learn how to iframe, and many more that he just liked and he tweaked it. After a few years my friend was able to support himself fully and I saw exactly what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Up until that point in my life I never realized that I had absolutely NO direction in life and had no idea what I wanted or could do for a living for the rest of my life. I would like to introduce you for the first time to the first creation my friend and I were able to accomplish. Meet... Fun Games Online
